Kite Festival Held at ºÚÁÏÉç

A kite festival competition was held at ºÚÁÏÉç to celebrate the Bengali New Year 1433 (Pohela Boishakh). On Monday afternoon (April 13), the festival was inaugurated at the Mayuri Residential Park premises on Sonadanga Bypass Road by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kanai Lal Sarkar.
Present at the event were Dr. Md. Imjamam-Ul-Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology; Dr. Md. Rouf Biswas, Professor of Business Administration and Convener of the Pohela Boishakh 1433 Celebration Committee; Md. Asaduzzaman, Associate Professor of the CSE Department and Member Secretary of the Celebration Committee; Registrar Dr. Sheikh Shafikur Rahman; Proctor Shakil Ahmed; along with department heads, assistant proctors, office heads, teachers, students, officers, and staff.
The kite festival competition, organized by ºÚÁÏÉç, was conducted in four segments: Best Kite Display, Highest Flying Kite, Kite Fighting, and Kite Racing.
In the Best Kite Display category, Abu Ubaida Saymon from the EEE Department emerged as the winner. In the Highest Flying Kite category, Saif from the CSE Department became the champion, while Shuvra Dube from the same department secured the runner-up position. In the Kite Fighting category, Calvin Ayon from the CSE Department won the competition. In the Kite Racing category, Naimur from the Law Department became the champion, and Naiful from the Department of English Language and Literature was the runner-up.
Later, prizes were distributed among the participating students of the university.
